Derry is a 1921 Model T truck with a BIG birthday coming up in July. To help him celebrate, we’d like to drive him up onto Canyon Street so he can tell everyone about his life and the changes he’s seen. For that, he needs to be running.
We’ve had him running as recently as 2018, but that was a few years ago so he’s going to need a little bit of work to get him ready for his big event. If you have some basic mechanic skills, or would like to gain some, and want to get your hands dirty on this gem of an antique vehicle, let us know!
We’ll get you together with our current mechanics. They’ll walk you through what has been done already, what needs to be done, and how to do it if you’re new to this sort of thing. It includes driving lessons, because you’ll get to drive Derry up onto Canyon Street – and he’s not exactly like driving a modern vehicle.
Time Commitment: A few to several hours, depending on what needs to be done, between now and the end of April when our chief mechanic is moving. Specific schedules are flexible and totally up to you.
Requirements: Some knowledge of engines and vehicle systems would be good – but this old boy is as basic as they come. No computer diagnostics here! We can supply basic tools.
